COVID-19: Travel Restrictions Spain

The travel restrictions regarding Spain are as follows.

 

  1. - Residents of the European Union, Schengen Associated States, Andorra, Monaco, the Vatican (Holy See) or San Marino.
  2. Holders of a long-term visa issued by a Member State or Schengen Associated State
  3. - Cross-border workers
  4. - Health professionals, including health researchers, and health professionals care of the elderly who go to or return from exercising their work activity
  5. - Transport, marine and aeronautical personnel necessary to carry out air transport activities.
  6. - Diplomatic, consular, international, military, civil protection and members of humanitarian organizations, in the exercise of their functions.
  7. - Students who study in the Member States or Schengen Associated States and who have the corresponding permit or visa
  8. - Highly qualified workers whose work is necessary and cannot be postponed or performed remotely, including participants in high-level sports events that take place in Spain. These circumstances must be justified documentary
  9. - People traveling for imperative family reasons duly accredited
  10. - People who document documentary reasons of force majeure or situation of need, or whose entry is allowed for humanitarian reasons.
  11. - Seasonal workers in the agricultural sector.
  12. - Residents in the countries listed in the annex. In the case of residents of Algeria, China and Morocco, subject to the principle of reciprocity. By resolution of the person in charge of the Ministry of the Interior, this annex may be modified.

Third countries whose residents are not affected by the temporary restriction of non-essential travel to the EU through external borders in the terms set forth in this Order 

  1. Australia.
  2. Canada.
  3. Georgia.
  4. Japan.
  5. Morocco.
  6. New Zealand.
  7. Rwanda.
  8. South Korea.
  9. Thailand.
  10. Tunisia.
  11. Uruguay.
  12. China.

 

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS


EXPIRED RESIDENCY

 • Passengers with an expired residence card between 13 March and 21 Jun if its written on the residence card “RESIDENCIA Y TRABAJO”   can be ACCEPTED,

• In cases when residence was expired before 13 March to 21 Jun border police must be contact by phone (phone operative from 10:00 to 21:00) and residence card number must be given so they can check if its valid and they will approve/not case by case

• Residence card for students who are studying in Spain and  if its valid can be ACCEPTED  but if its expired cannot be accepted till September  

• If passenger has a residence card of another EU country different than Spain is on the allowed to do TRANSIT ,so connecting TKT number to his/her residence country must be checked and enter in PNR with 5... / If there is no connecting valid TKT to the residence country they are not allowed to enter Spain

 

EXPIRED D TYPE VISA

  • Residence permits and D type visas expired between 13 March and 21 Jun 2020 are accepted for entry 

  • If D type visa it’s for another UE country different then Spain passenger can be accepted as transit but he needs to prove plane ticket to his final destination within 24hours 


TRANSIT
 
  • Passengers can use Madrid as transit point if they have connecting flight and confirmed ticket within 24 hours ( Some countries might need transit visa)
  • If passenger is connecting to third country via Spain baggage must be checked always till final destinations .Some connecting airlines are rejected passengers whose luggage’s are not check final destinations .
  • For some Nationality need Transit Visa. 


SEAMAN

  • Acceptable according to Timatic. No constraint from covid reason.

 

UK PASSPORT HOLDERS

  • Until end of the 2020, UK citizens  like EU members and EU rules are valid, Accepted.

 

EU MEMBER, SCHENGEN MEMBER PASSENGERS AND SCHENGEN RELATED STATE CITIZENS (, Andorra, Monaco, Vatican (Holy See) or San Marino)

•             Acceptable

 

TOURISTIC VISA OWNERS MARRIED WITH THE EU CITIZEN

  • If there is a marriage document proving that who is married to a member of the EU, provided that it is a valid visa and travel document: ACCEPTED

STUDENT
  
  • Students who carry out their studies in the Member States or associated Schengen States and who have the corresponding permit or visa and medical insurance, provided that they go to the country where they are studying, and that entry occurs during the academic year or Previous 15 days.
