COVID-19: Travel Restrictions Bangladesh

1. With immediate effect, scheduled international passenger flights to/from China, Malaysia, Maldives, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Turkey, UAE and UK are permitted to be operated as per the schedule recently approved by CAAB.


2. Physical distancing of personnel on duty at the airport and disinfection procedure for passenger, crew, aircraft etc. shall be complied by all concerned as per the CAAB published latest directives.


3. The decision of COVID-19 negative certificate for all outgoing passenger has been relaxed. Now onward, passengers intending to travel abroad must possess all valid travel documents, visas, health/ medical/ `COVID-19 negative/test certificate’ and other necessary documents etc. as per the requirement and instruction of the competent authority of the respective country of destination. When COVID-19 certificate is mandatory to travel to any country, the passengers shall obtain certificate from government authorized test facilities .


4. Foreign nationals coming to Bangladesh with valid visas will be required to produce a medical certificate (with English translation) to be obtained within 72 hours of travel, indicating that he/she is ‘COVID-19 Negative’. The individual needs to submit these certificates on arrival at the entry point (airport/ sea port/ land port) in Bangladesh. Children below the age of 10 years is exempted from the provision of this paragraph.


5. If any Bangladeshi or Bangladesh origin passengers possess an NVR and come to Bangladesh without the required ‘COVID-19 Negative’ certificate, he/she would be institutionally quarantined for 14 (Fourteen) days. Children below the age of 10 years is exempted from the provision of this paragraph.


6. If any Bangladeshi or Bangladesh origin passengers possess an NVR and come to Bangladesh with the ‘COVID-19 Negative’ certificate, he/she would be home/self quarantined for 14 (Fourteen) days. However, if he/she is diagnosed with any symptom of Corona Virus on his/her arrival, he/she would be institutionally quarantined in for 14 (Fourteen) days. 7. All other flights shall be conducted following usual procedure except for the Relief/ Humanitarian (arranged/ offered by State to State), Repatriation, Citizen Evacuation, Diplomatic flight requests shall be made to Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh through Ministry of Foreign Affairs Bangladesh.


8. Any condition and instruction, in regard to air travel, imposed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Bangladesh and any other competent the authority of Bangladesh time to time, shall be applicable.


9. Previous circulars of CAAB issued on the above mentioned the subject is hereby cancelled.
